On The Network

With unparalleled access to a host of medical and network services, our members exchange much more than health information- they gain access to a network of healthcare partners and services across the entire region. This freedom to exchange experiences and ideas leads to greater quality of care and better patient outcomes.

Dear Reader:

This August 2007 marks the first issue of the GCI ConnectMD Connections Newsletter! Each issue we'll keep you up-to-date with the latest information "On The Network" Our purpose is to offer a brief, but informative look at what's happening in your medical community; to update you on our growing medical network, introduce you to new members, highlight new CMD products and services, and remind you of upcoming CMD press and events and most importantly- to connect each of our member's with helpful tips, articles and news from you- our members!

You probably receive a dozen or more association, trade and various other HIT related news and emails everyday, so we'll try to be brief. Above all, it's our aim to provide a network newsletter that truly brings value to you without wasting your time, so we've organized our newsletter into 4 basic sections to help you quickly browse and stay informed on the network. One more note! GCI ConnectMD is a health information technology network, so our newsletter is geared to provide a broad range of clinical, financial and IT related information suited to our members. So whether you are a CEO, CFO, CIO, Provider or IT Manager, we're sure to offer balanced content that's relevant for you!

Thanks for Reading!

ConnectMD Transforming Care

Numerous examples of healthcare networks abound today. Across the U.S. and around the globe they exist in many different forms and sizes, definitions and with various purposes and goals; everything from "rural health networks," "teleradiology networks," "provider networks" and "IPA's" to name a few. All of these networks aim to improve the business of patient care and enhance the professional lives of those who provide it. So, with such broad definition, what makes the GCI ConnectMD medical network truly unique? What brings real value to our network members and improves the quality and delivery of care to their patients?

As the largest medical network in the Pacific Northwest, we at GCI ConnectMD pride ourselves on our ability to offer cutting-edge healthcare products and services to our network members. But what makes us unique - what really excites us - is the powerful way that these services are actually transforming care in our members' communities! We're proud to help bridge the gap between rural and urban care. It's a privilege to provide the infrastructure and delivery of world-class HIT to our members- but it's the transformation of care, connection of the rural community and improved practices, that makes our network truly unique- bringing tremendous value to our members. And you need to hear about it!

In this section of the newsletter we will share actual stories, recent examples and comments from our members to inform, inspire and improve the way your organization delivers care. We want to shine the spotlight on the practical and life-saving ways the network, products, services and our members are transforming care in your community. As a healthcare information technology network, we want to share a broad range of transforming examples - CEOs, CIOs, IT managers, Providers- we invite you to submit your thoughts, anecdotes, articles and stories to be shared in future issues of the CMD newsletter. Perhaps you've solved a difficult problem that other network members may be facing, or realized a truly amazing result- we want to share it!

Please see below for how to submit your examples.

News & Events

Well, there's only one thing to say: In this section we will cover news & upcoming conferences and events that CMD will be participating in or sponsoring. But there's a twist! Unlike most periodicals you already receive, we will not link you to "last month's news stories" - you have already read that last month - however, we do want to make special highlight of those important regional and national news stories that specifically effect and impact our members. To that end, if there is a regional or national story that we or you- for that matter- think worthy to share…you will find it here!
